Despite the very hot
weather, which kept some people at home, in the shade, we had a record entrance
for the Dog Show at this years Fete. Thanks to Roy and Graham who took out
leaflets to other local dog shows.
We had an interesting winner of the Best Rescue Dog, a 9 month old German Shepherd, who is a dwarf. His owners took him knowing that they will have large vet bills for the life of the dog, and he will have the size and appearance of an 8 week old pup for life. However he is a happy and confident dog, who enjoyed the show and collected lots of hugs and cuddles.
Jodie
Spring and her dog Holly gave an impressive performance as winners of the
Junior Dog Handler, competently completing the set exercises and doing several
tricks. Holly is a 10 years old rescue dog with immaculate teeth, eyes, fur and
a nice trim waist line.
Finally, it is very hard to judge a dog show. I love all the dogs and the standard was very high. Everyone who owns a dog has the BEST DOG, because it is their dog, and this is how it should be!.
