For clients and
their families who need daily respite, there is a separate Day Care Unit in a
converted Coach House. This provides a variety of activities and optional
services such as bathing, hairdressing, massage & beauty treatment and
chiropody.
All meals are provided and transport is available on request.
Brook House residential home was established in 1987 in a large newly converted
seventeenth and part nineteenth
century Grade two listed building. It is set in its own large grounds in the
heart of the village.
It is a family run business whose aim is to provide a high standard of care in an unregimented environment.
Introduction
Brook House is a Grade II listed privately owned Residential Care Home that specialises in the care of the elderly.
The ethos of the home is to provide care and attention to those who wish to spend their twilight years in a secure, safe environment, whilst respecting their independance and privacy and maintaining their dignity.
Accommodation
We have a selection of comfortable bedrooms , set over two floors, all of which are fitted with nurse call systems, TV and telephone points and personal washing facilities.
Our large attractive lounges offer a relaxing environment in which to watch television, listen to music or to simply sit quietly.
The two bathrooms are fitted with bath hoists and the shower room is fitted with a walk in shower.
Meals
Meals are taken in our large spacious dining room. They are all freshly prepared by our qualified cook, who uses fresh local produce wherever possible. Meals are nutritious and carefully planned to cater for all tastes and dietary needs.
Staffing
Highly trained staff are on call 24 hours a day, most of whom have achieved or are working towards a recognised NVQ qualification. The home has a strong emphasis on training.
Garden
Brook House is set
in 1/2 acre of mature, well tended grounds. It has a large lawn with
seating for the summer months. It also has a secure courtyard which enables
residents to sit outside safely.
Activities
Entertainment and activities are organised on a regular basis, both in-house and by means of trips out in the homes specially adapted mini bus. All residents are encouraged to participate, subject to their needs and abilities.
Services
Visiting services include, Chiropodist, dentist, optician, doctor and clergy of all denominations.
Visitors
Visitors are welcome at all reasonable times and can join us for meals,
subject to notice.
